Dress code: business casual.
Am I the only one who gets slightly anxious when seeing those words on an invite? Do they want me to show up in blazer? Is a pencil skirt too much? Perhaps I could get away with wearing black skinnies… Girl-code dictates it’s always better to be overdressed than under-dressed. But let’s be honest, nobody wants to be the only stiff girl standing in a matching suit and pant (unless you’re wearing it à la the 1970’s YSL x Helmut Newton’s Le Smoking suit – in which case, let me catch my breathe because I LOVE YOU). Alas, for those less contentious on the sartorial front, stress no further, I’ve found your happy medium.
THE UTILITY:
Pair this cutie with a contrasted single-tone blazer and be ready to show everyone who’s boss. Need a little more personality? Pack a thin patterned scarf in your bag for some extra sophistication ready on deck. Extra points if the scarf print contains the same color as your t-shirt dress. Otherwise, rest easy that a dramatic statement necklace will do the trick! I like mine a little Victorian. And as with all my utility posts, scroll through to see how I dress this puppy down for a more casual feel.

Thank you!! ❤ The blazer is actually from Zara, a few seasons ago. Just looked and here's a very similar option they currently have available! http://www.zara.com/us/en/woman/blazers/double-crepe-blazer-c756615p3791507.html
